I love this fall DIY because there are so many ways to can change it up and make it something completely different and completely yours!

- twine
- leaves
- scissors
- extras
MAKING A FALL CANDLE DIY
This is the easiest fall DIY decor!
Wrap the twine several times around a clear glass container and tie the twine securely, but not too tight, in a knot.
Slip a faux or real fall leaf or two under the twine. I also added a few faux acorns around the candle.
You can add a drop of clear glue between the leaves and the glass container to keep the leaves in place.
Light and enjoy! So so easy!
The faux leaves glowed from the candlelight behind them. Don’t you love that look!
I also used real oak leaves from our yard. I ironed them between dishtowels to make them flat-ish!
The real leave had a pretty but different look.
Easy peasy fall leaf decor!
Speaking of looks… I LOVE how a bit of orange looks with lots of white. So I’m keeping these fall leave candleholders simple and everything around it white! So pretty, right?
Here are some easy ways to use these pretty candleholders…
- make these candle holders in different sizes and group them together
- use a ribbon to tie the leaves to the glass candleholder
- add Indian corn or candy corn around the base of the candle
- add to a fall table for ambiance
- line the leaf candleholders along the mantel
- give them as little fall gifts
- take out the candle and use the container for fall nibbles at a fall gathering
Sweet friends, do not leave these candle holders unattended with a lit candle in them. But you knew that.
I hope you give this 10-minute fall decor a try!

So beautiful and simple, Yvonne! May I please ask where you have gotten your faux leaves? They look so real. The ones I have purchased are all made of cloth, and although they’re fine for the purposes I’m using them for, I would really like some that look real. Thank you for the wonderful inspiration today!
Blessings,
❤Beth
Thanks for the beautiful yet simple idea! Love it!
Help! I think my bleached pinecones are a fail. I followed the directions but they are sooooo sappy and not nearly as bleached as yours. They are still drying but I have little hope for them. Did the sap disappear in your Clorox solution? Maybe it will dry out? Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks.
HI Pam, Not sure what happened. Let them totally dry out. They will look much different.
Really cute and easy for Fall decor!
Beautiful, yet simple…..that’s how I like it!
I am new to your site and I look forward to your daily emails and tips. After 40 years of living in our very loved home, I am renovating to sell. Kitchen and two bathrooms are updated. Now on to removing wallpaper that was so “in” in the 70’s and on to purging that 40 years of living. Your home looks bright and cheery with elegant touches, but not too elegant. You are providing the incentive for me to make smart changes To our home.
Thanks for that simple but nice looking fall candle holder. Great quick idea!!
Hi Yvonne. This little gem is so perfectly natural and rustic. Like you, and so many other “Stonegablers”,
Fall “leaves” me happy! Thank you.”
Pretty and easy! Thanks for sharing!
WOW! Just an amazing fall decor idea.
Yvonne,
You’ve inspired me with these easy and elegant fall ideas. Small seasonal touches around the house are just my style, so these are perfect for me. Thank you.
Thank you for your decorating tips. This is one of my favorite times of the year to decorate. In regard to the comment about the bleached pinecones, it seems to be that the ones that have fallen recently from the tree bleach much better than ones I collected the previous fall or winter. I did leave some in the bleach and water mixture too long one time. They looked different–but interesting.
Such a simple but elegant little project. I love it and this is my favorite time of the year. Your home is so warm and cozy. Thank you for sharing so much with us.
Love it… I have some little white pails I think I will do this to. Fill with rice and set the candle inside. 🙂 Great inspiration, Yvonne!
Better yet… fill with corn kernals!
I would love to see the rest of the vignette!
