MENU PLAN WEEK OF DEC 27TH

Need dinner ideas and other recipes? I have a week's worth of delicious recipes you are sure to enjoy!

This week’s menu plan features some real warm-your-tummy comfort food! It’s been so frigid here nothing satisfies like a pot of soup or a right-from-the-oven casserole. This is the place to find scrumptious dinner recipes. Let’s dig in…

The week between Christmas and New Year’s is such a nice week! Christmas is still in the air and the anticipation of a fun way to ring in the New Year is exciting!

After Christmas, however, I’m ready to settle down from all the wonderful and busy bustle of Christmas. And start a fresh routine. I love new beginnings. And this time of year makes me yearn for a clean slate in every way!

We do still have some Christmas company and fun things going on but everything is a little calmer now.

MONDAY

There are some recipes I can look at and know they will be a StoneGable favorite!

Today pork although lean can also be lacking in taste. Pork was much better when I was a girl! So lots of flavors must be added today to make pork the star of a meal. And Crunchy Creamy Sweet did just that and more!

TUESDAY

What a gorgeous salmon from Cooking Classy! YUM!

We’ve not eaten pork in a while and I’m not sure why. I’ve got to remember to make it the star of a meal at least once a week!

And this recipe is a star!

WEDNESDAY- SLOW COOKER DAY

I think this meal is described by the saying, “winner, winner chicken dinner”! I’m sure we will all love Tuscan chicken from Bunny’s Warm Oven!

And Bobby will LOVE it over pasta.

THURSDAY- SOUP DAY – SLOW COOKER DAY

I’m on a roll this week with the most fabulous foodie blogs like Cake N Knife!

Just thinking about French Onion soup makes my mouth water. But it has to be hearty and the broth intense with beefy onion flavor. Oh, tonight is going to taste soooooo good!

FRIDAY- AIR FRYER DAY- NEW YEAR’S EVE

Even though it’s New Year’s Eve it will be a quiet one for Bobby and me. We are celebrating with my sister Lisa and husband Jim and we will play games and ring in the New Year with fabulous appetizers and champagne!

We will be eating these yummy chicken tenders as part of our appetizers. But I created a whole menu for you if your evening includes a very easy meal!

I LOVE my air fryer! It makes the crispy food I crave without frying and calories!

Tonight’s dinner is from Mommy’s Fabulous Finds.

SATURDAY- NEW YEAR’S DAY

I know I should be a good wife and make Pork, Sauerkraut. and Potatoes today. It is what every house in Lancaster County will be cooking. Every house but ours! I am not feeling it this year. With a promise of a real New Year’s meal next weekend we are having Mexican food for New Year’s day!

This week’s Tex-Mex fix comes from 2 Teaspoons! This recipe looks like it will feed a crowd so I’m going to break it down and serve it in single-serve cast iron skillets. Thanks, Karen!

I actually crave a tamale. When I was in 8th grade we moved from England to Del Rio Texas. What a huge culture shock! I went from English elocution lessons to Spanish lessons in a matter of days. It was in Del Rio that I learned about Mexican food and tasted my first enchilada, tamale, taco, and more!

We had the most wonderful Mexican lunch ladies that were FABULOUS cooks. So I learned what authentic and so delicious Mexican food is.

To this day I need a Tex-Mex fix weekly! Who says Tamale Pie isn’t a great New Year’s Day meal?

SUNDAY- SOUP DAY- SLOW COOKER DAY

This chicken rice soup looks fabulous! Hearty and meal worthy! A great recipe for an after church get together! I’ll make this soup up the night before using homemade stock and heat it up in the slow cooker. Thanks, Ashley at the Recipe Rebel!

SWEET TREAT OF THE WEEK…

I just had to make it and put the recipe on my blog. If you want a very quick and delicious cake you make from a box mix you really need to try Bacardi Rum Cake!

  1. Everything looks delicious! I am thinking about purchasing an air fryer, because everyone I talk to seems to love theirs. What brand do you use?

  2. That tamale pie is something I want to try. There is no way the number of servings listed can be correct. Sounds like 6 servings would be more accurate. Thanks for the menus! I love looking at them every week.

  7. In your Bacardi Rum Cake recipe it lists ¼ cup toasted nuts but there’s no direction on when to add them. Do they go into the glaze that is drizzled on the cake?

    1. Hi Sandy, the directions say to sprinkle the nuts on the bottom of the bundt pan. Check again! I hope you enjoy this recipe!
