I really believe the adage IF YOU FAIL TO PLAN YOU PLAN TO FAIL. I know this from experience in so many aspects of my life. And it is true when it comes to dinnertime!

So I’ve done the menu planning for you. Actually, there are years of menu plans you can peruse by just scrolling down the StoneGable homepage.

So, just find the menus that strike your fancy and continue to plan from there.

Ready for a great week of yummy recipes? Le’t go…

MONDAY

Bobby and I love chicken thighs. There is so much more flavor in thigh meat than the white meat of a chicken. These beautiful Asian-inspired thighs look so good. Thank you To Tamara at Citrine Living for tonights delicious dish! Tamera is a fabulous decorator and her blue and white home is just gorgeous!

TUESDAY- SOUP DAY

Soup is always welcome on the menu! I’ve made this soup a few times and it is really delicious. I’m so surprised how much rich flavor came out of an Instant Pot. Thank your Erin at Well-Plated.

If you don’t have one, these small kitchen appliances are a huge dinner helper, making tasty meals in less time than it would take to cook!

You can see my favorite Instant Pot HERE.

I’m sharing one of my family’s favorite salads for dinner tonight. I just changed it a little, added new images and lots of tips for making the best salad! Hope you enjoy it.

WEDNESDAY

I’m such a foodie! I read cookbooks like some read romance novels and The British Baking Show is my tv show of choice! I have cooked for decades but have never made Julia Child’s Beef Bourguignon! I make a mean Yankee Pot Roast (see it here) but not it’s French cousin!

Even though this recipe has lots of ingredients, and takes quite a bit of time it is really pretty straightforward. I’m spooning the stew over creamy mashed potatoes and serving them beside roasted leeks. Sounds amazing, doesn’t it?

I’m home all day today so I’ll get an early start on this rich beef stew. This will be great practice for company coming soon.

THURSDAY

The wonderful thing about posting a menu plan is I’m always finding really delicious recipes to share with you, and me too! Tonight’s salmon has become one of our favorites. It’s so easy to make and has such a lovely orange note. This recipe comes from Lyuba at Will Cook For Smiles. Thanks, Jyuba.

FRIDAY

Oh, I love Mexican-inspired food! And I have made this beautiful Queso Chicken recipe from Barbara at Butter And Baggage often! Tonight I’m serving it with other great southwest sides.

SATURDAY

Today is our Anniversary. We are going out to dinner but I did not want to leave you with just 6 dinner recipes so I chose one that I have tried and LOVED from Shannon at the Food Cafe. You will love this company-worthy recipe.

SUNDAY

Oh, Wow, Rae at Insolence And Wine! These buttery mushroom tarts look gorgeous! I can’t wait to make them. I’ve been watching The British Baking Show and love the pasties and savory tarts they make. I’ll be pretending I’m a contestant as I make these pretty pastries for dinner tonight!

SWEET TREAT OF THE WEEK

I’m sharing two sweet treats I can’t wait to make this week. The first recipe is from my blogging friend Christy at Christy Little, Our Southern Home. And the other recipe is from Marty at A Stroll Thru Life. I’ve been blogging with these gals forever! They are just darling people and they both can decorate and cook!

  1. All delicious recipes for sure. Planning healthy meals is one of the most important things we can do for our families. I plan 2 weeks or further ahead. I have found that shopping is easier, and I always use up everything. For example, herbs. I grow my own in the summer, but if a recipe calls for a particular fresh herb out of season I make a plan to use it over the course of two weeks. It gives me a great deal of satisfaction to not be wasteful. I think that planning meals ahead makes for a calmer home life if you know what I mean. I have a friend that used to leave work at 5:00 and get home and start taking an ice pick to a pound of ground beef! They ended up eating hot dogs, take out
or canned soup. They are all overweight and not in the best of shape after all those years of not having a plan. She said they have never had a plan for anything and just fly by the seat of their pants. Planning meals and eating well is the best thing you can do for yourself – even on a budget.

  2. I always look forward to all your menus, so many fabulous meals to try. Thanks so much for sharing my Peach Cobbler. It really is a family favorite.
