ON THE MENU WEEK OF MARCH 4TH

Need dinner ideas? I have a week's worth of scrumptious dinner menu and other must-make delicious recipes too! Main dish recipes, side dishes, soups, bread recipes, salad recipes and lots of yummy desserts. Here's what's on the menu this week...
DAFFODIL PLACE SETTING

This week I’m beginning to see beautiful early spring lettuces and other vegetables at my local farm stand. And the spring flowers are profuse! Although I can not eat daffodils I love little téte a téte daffodils! They are so tiny and cute and adorable harbingers of spring. This week’s menu might be called a harbinger of spring too!

On The Menu this week is a mix of warm comfort food and some of my early spring favorites!

MONDAY

I’ve made these scrumptious tacos before from Budget Bytes. Oh, YUM!!!!

TUESDAY

If you make one thing this week Nani’s Sauteed Chicken should be it. I remember eating this as a child and it continues to be a family favorite! I call this Peasant food. Every bit of flavor is coaxed out of the simple ingredients!

This is such an old recipe, so the images are less than perfect. It’s on my long list to update. Don’t let the image put you off, this is a scrumptious recipe and so easy!

WEDNESDAY

I have a new culinary blog I LOVE!

Seasons And Suppers is a GORGEOUS blog with images that are so luscious and recipes that will make even the most novice cook want to be a chef!

Oh, I got lost in this amazing foodie blog!

Do you know my frustration with pork? What happened to the flavor! It became the “other white meat”. Yup! That’s the problem. The wine and herb gravy in this recipe will go a long way to make it amazingly delicious!

What a great comfort dinner to have in the middle of the week!

THURSDAY

Isn’t this a beautiful fish dish? It looks amazing and it’s so good for us too. And it can be made in 30 minutes. Wow! A winner, winner fishy dinner!

FRIDAY

Spanakopita is a real treat here at StoneGable. It’s flaky and filled with the delicious flavor of feta and spinach. It’s really quite easy to make and can feed a crowd!

I love to try new things. I’ve made puff pastry and other harder to make foods, but I would never even think I could try to make phyllo dough. I’ve seen it made and I could sooner fly!

I buy phyllo in the freezer section of my grocer’s and I’m thankful to use it from the box!

This is perfect for our Friday night dinners! YUM!

SATURDAY

I was looking for an easy and delicious dinner recipe. I am a huge tostada fan. And these BBQ ones are perfect for a super easy supper! I could eat Tex- Mex at least three times a week. I know, YIKES!

Blender salsa is so amazing and so easy to make that it is worth making and not buying.

SUNDAY- SLOW COOKER DAY

No recipe for this easy pork and sauerkraut that my Bobby adores. Just get a 4 lb. Boston butt pork (shoulder roast) and a pack of refrigerator sauerkraut (do not drain) and large yellow onion. Brown the pork in 2 TBS olive oil on all sides. Put the sauerkraut and sliced onions in the bottom of a slow cooker and nestle the pork roast on top. Cook on low for about 8 hours until the roast falls apart.

Serve on a bed of mashed potatoes and a side of applesauce. This is such an easy and traditional family meal from my neck of the woods!

SWEET TREAT OF THE WEEK

I have such a crush of sorts on bloggers who bake. I think they sprinkle sweet love around wherever they go!

And I love galette makers.

I can actually make a galette. I think galettes were invented for all of us who profess not to be bakers and to help us feel successful.

Oh, look at this galette from Live Eat Learn. So beautiful!
