On The Menu Week Of September 5th
Need ideas for dinner this week? I have 7 scrumptious dinner menus and 35 delicious recipes just for you! Many with fall flavors. Main dishes, side dishes, salads, soups, breads, desserts, and great tips and ideas for making every meal its best! Here's what's On The Menu week of September 5th. Beautiful recipes for hungry lives!
On The Menu changes with each season and fall will soon be here! I am very much an in-season cook. Tomatoes, cabbage, onions, leeks, and peppers will be going strong in local gardens until the beginning of October. And cauliflower is so sweet and delicious right now!
As the weather picks up a chill I’ll be doing more braising and roasting too! Fall weather is just around the corner but I can’t wait to start cooking with beautiful fall flavors!
Here’s what’s On The Menu this week…
MONDAY
Are you a chicken thigh fan? They are my chicken part of choice. YUM! And look at them lounging and bathing in this fabulous marinade! This wonderful marinade is from, Victor at i Food Blogger!
TUESDAY
This gorgeous halibut looks too good to be true. I know halibut can be a bit pricey so if you see wild halibut on sale get it and make this dish! Or substitute cod or another white fish. Wow, oh Wow! Thanks so much, Bunny’s mom at Tastes Spicy.Â
WEDNESDAY
When Chili is on the menu I double the recipe. It’s a family favorite so when my kids and grandbabies are here and stay for dinner I can grab it out of the freezer and have a delicious and hearty dinner in no time at all!
Instead of using canned tomatoes, I’ll add the tomatoes from our garden.
And Sweet Cream Cornbread is the perfect thing to accompany chili!
THURSDAY
I’ve been craving Salmon Cakes! They have been on our menu since I was a little girl.
I’ve been making salmon cakes for decades and tweaking them along the way. They are full of delicious flavors that make these cakes something especially yummy!
I air fry the salmon cakes but if you don’t have an air fryer you can bake them or pan sautee them.
If you make one thing this week Salmon Cakes should be it!
FRIDAY
You had me at “capers”! Did you know that capers are tiny flowers from the Finder Rose? They are so bitter but once pickled they take on a magical briny taste that enhances almost anything savory you put them on.
Keep them in your pantry and refrigerate the once they are opened. Thanks, Chris and the Loon for this very tasty pork chop. Head over to How To Feed A Loon and say “Hi”!
