Here’s a delicious late fall dinner menu plan and some recipes to make for the holidays…
MONDAY
Soup is almost always on the menu when the weather turns chilly.
And this soup full of vegetables looks amazing!
Thanks, Serena for the delicious soup to add to my culinary repertoire! Go to Serena Bakes to see more fabulous recipes. Serena Bakers is one of my favorite food blogs.
TUESDAY
Salmon and pasta work together wonderfully in a dish! Instead of using heavy cream I’ll use Greek yogurt and evaporated milk in equal amounts. This is a really beautiful dish! Thanks, Julia from Viklinka.
WEDNESDAY- SLOW COOKER DAY
On busy days my slow cooker is my best friend! I can start dinner early in the day and let it cook away while I’m working. Photoshoots, styling, schlepping decor up and down the basement, editing, business call, etc.
And that’s not homekeeping or doing something outside of work. I hope you use your slow cooker and enjoy delicious home-cooked meals. Another wonderful recipe from Closet Cooking.
THURSDAY
I make this enchilada recipe often. It is soooo good. If you like southwest or Mexican food as I do, give these a try. From Ali who has one of my favorite foodie blogs, Gimme Some Oven (love that name!).
FRIDAY
I have such a love/hate relationship with pork. When I was a little girl living in Scotland and England the pork was HEAVENLY! But now it’s sorta tasteless.
You know what foodies say, “The taste is in the fat”. I’m pretty particular about where I buy pork and how I cook it to try to get the best flavor out of it I can. I am so excited to try this slow cooker, bacon-wrapped pork loin! Thanks, Sabrina from Dessert Then Dinner.
Baked acorn squash is on the menu tonight too. I really love the mild pumpkin flavor of this beautiful funny squash! If you haven’t tried baked acorn squash yet you really should. YUM!
- BACON GARLIC PORK LOIN
- MASHED POTATOES
- BAKED ACORN SQUASH
SATURDAY
I bet you did not know that I get a little squeamish eating most fish with cheese. I heard that fish and cheese don’t mix when I was young and ever since that I have had a hard time eating the combo. I know I’m missing out on lots of great fish dishes but I just can’t! So this is one cod recipe that looks amazing! From House And Garden.
SUNDAY- FAMILY DINNER
I LOVE Sunday dinners! And I especially love Sunday dinners that are easy. For our family dinner, I’m making easy air fryer salmon. It’s so delicious! You can also pan fry these cakes or bake them in the oven.
TREAT OF THE WEEK
Chocolate cake! YUM! We all love a deliciously dense chocolate cake. But I’m all about a bundt! So this treat of the week is both chocolatey and a bundt. Thanks, Ann from On Sutton Place.

i was the youngest in the family and never learned to cook, my husband has always cooked. But in retirement my goal was to learn to do this “mysterious thing” Your recipes have helped so much. I haven’t yet mastered how to make everything come out at the same time (getting better at this math!). Thank you for posting your weekly recipes.
Hi Jan! Good for you!!!! I still have trouble making everything come out the same time too. Thank goodness for the “warm” setting on the oven.
