THE BEST GUACAMOLE YOU WILL EVER EAT!
I have an obsession with really good guacamole! YUM!!!! Not so much the humble avocado, but when you add just a few fresh ingredients to a mashed avocado there is magic! Today I’m sharing my very favorite guacamole. It’s a keeper recipe! Easy to make and a big crowd pleaser. So if you are serving it to a crowd make sure you have lots and lots! I serve it with tortilla chips, but my favorite way to eat it is on toast for breakfast!

Ingredients
- 4 ripe Haas avocados
- 2 limes juiced
- 1 garlic pressed
- 2 TBSP very finely chopped onion
- 1 large tomato diced
- 1 handful of fresh cilantro finely chopped
- salt and pepper
Instructions
- Cut the avocados in half and take out the pit. Scoop the flesh from the skin and put it into a big bowl. Mash the avocado flesh with a fork. Leave it a little chunky.
- Fold in all the ingredients.
- Refrigerate with plastic wrap laying on the guacamole so it won't get brown. Serve with chips or toasted bread.
Notes
Guacamole is best serve fresh.
This is identical to my recipe minus the cilantro – my son is one of those who finds it to taste like soap. I haven’t tried this yet, but I read recently that if you add the pit back into your guacamole, it keeps it from turning brown. I haven’t tried it on toast, but I will next time I make it.
Hi Jen, I don’t use the cilantro either for the same reason. The whole bowl of quac tastes like soap to me. But when I have other people eating it I do add it.
Yes, that’s exactly how I like it, too. Delicious!
I love good guac! I add a little bit of cayenne pepper to mine for a bit of kick.
YUM!
We like minced fresh red onion in ours because we like the added crunch!
I make it nearly the same replacing the cilantro with fresh basil…..and a spoon to eat the whole batch! Yummo!
Here in Texas, guacamole is its own food group! We couldn’t do without it. Your recipe sounds fantastic. 🙂
That is exactly the way I like mine too. I’m trying it on toast tomorrow AM.
Can’t wait to give this a try! I’ll be adding the red onion, I love the extra crunch too!
Love guacamole. I don’t use cilantro but I do add chopped onion jalapeño or hot sauce. We like it a bit spicy. Will definitely try it on toast
I need to try this. I’m not crazy about cilantro either but maybe I will try divide it in half with and without the cilantro and see how we like it. Thank you.
LOVE guacamole! Even on hamburgers!
I agree with putting the avocado pit back in the guacamole! My daughter makes it all the time and it never turns “brown!”
Geat tip!
This terrific recipe arrived just in time! Tried it, loved it, keeping it to pass on to daughter. Many thanks!
This looks absolutely yummy! Can’t wait to make it!
Sounds delicious, I plan on making it this week.
Loving all your recipie ideas! This quacamole one looks good. I also loved the one with the pastries. I am an excellent cook but when it comes to baking I’m a little blocked on the creativity side of it.
This will be great for New Years!
Looks great. There is a fantastic crop of Avocados in NEw Zealand this summer
so lots of opportunities to use them.
We love guacamole and I make it like this but with the addition of finely chopped onion.
I love guacamole.
