Easy O, Christmas Tree Cheeseboard
The Christmas Tree Cheese Board is the perfect appetizer or compliment to any meal for the Christmas season! It looks like a Christmas tree but is much tastier! Made of assorted cheeses and grapes, this fun tree is not only pretty to look at but will feed a crowd! Are you entertaining this Christmas? Then you should think about making an Oh, Christmas Tree cheeseboard! Your guest will be delighted! I’ll show you how…
Let’s make an Oh, Christmas Tree Cheese Board!
I saw this amazing cheese board on Pinterest and had to make one for myself! You can see the original HERE.
Materials:
- 3 different kinds of cheese of different colors cut into triangle wedges ( I used 2 8oz blocks for each type of cheese)
- green grapes
- large red globe grapes
- Rosemary and thyme
- toothpicks
- crackers
- I used a poster board covered in Carrara Marble contact paper as a base for the Christmas tree. Make a template for the tree out of parchment paper. This is important. Without a guide the tree might not turn out even. I used a quarter sheet pan size of parchment and folded it into a triangle.
- Start at the top of the tree. Arrange one color cheese wedges. I found that triangle wedges are easiest to arrange. Nestle them into one another following the outline of the parchment paper. Next, add a row of grapes. Snip the grapes into clusters of 3 to 6 grapes. arrange snugly up against the first layer of cheese.
- Continue alternating different colored cheese wedges and green and purple grapes. I attached 2 red grapes together with a toothpick and lined them up in a row and then added single red grapes on top of them. Keep snuggling one row against the next, making sure they are straight.
5. Continue layering the cheese and grape layers according to the image until the tree is complete.
6. Add the grape star topper. Choose a plump red grape for the center of the star. Put a toothpick through a green grape and stick the toothpick into the red grape as the image shows.
7. Garnish with thyme and rosemary. Add a celery stick for the trunk of the tree.
Serve with assorted crackers and mustards.
Wouldn’t this be the biggest hit at your next Christmas gathering?

Great way to display cheese and it looks so yummy. We live near Wisconsin home of cheese, so I don’t have any excuse for not making this. A great pin.

Dear sister…I feel stuck. Having about 10 women over Friday night for a Lifegreoup Christmas party. I want to bless them with making the food, but I just don’t know what to do…a few heavy hors d’curves and a few finger food desserts? Help!
Start with this cheese board. You just need 2 other appetizers and a couple easy desserts. Either make the appetizers or the dessert not both. Buy some things too! Hope this helps.
I can’t wait to try this! Will make for my family’s Christmas dinner this year. Thank you for sharing and many blessings to you this Christmas season.
I have seen several cheese board trees but this is the best! Your little extra touches make the difference. You are so creative and I thank you for being so sharing of your talent. Look forward everyday to your blog.
That beautiful cheese tray is the perfect thing to take to the association Christmas party. Thank you. I also couldn’t resist the recipe for the coconut Christmas cookies. My grandchildren will love them.
The tree is amazing! I may have to try one of these for “snack night” over the holidays!
This is a meet idea and pretty too !
This is one those “why didn’t I think of that” photos! Love it, I pinned it and hope to make one sometime this season.
This is the prettiest cheese tray I have ever seen! We’re hosting a holiday party next weekend and this will be a perfect appetizer!
Love this! Such a cute way to serve fruit and cheese! BTW, I made your Raw Apple Cake this morning for my Bible Study ladies…it was huge hit! Thank you!
Such a cute idea! I am having a “meet and greet” for my new grandson over the holidays. His parents travel the world and I am using that as my theme. Anyone out there have any suggestions on how to make a “world” cheese/relish tray other than selecting cheeses from other countries?
I’m in luv with this Christmas Cheeseboard…I am making several snacks for daughter’s Bunco C’mas party and will make this….
My whole tree will be 9″ tall ….how large is yours ? I won’t buy my ingredients until Thurs but not sure how much to get…’course, we can always eat the left over cheese and grapes…..this is sooo cute..I hope mine will look even half as cute as yours.

I’m hosting a Christmas party on Friday night. It’s a dinner party for 50 women and I couldn’t nail down the appetizer. Well, now I have. Thanks so much. I pray mine turns out half as beautiful as yours. Love it!
Absolutely beautiful! I will definitely be making this!
This is so beautiful… almost too pretty to eat! And with a few of my favorite things… cheese, grapes and more cheese! This will certainly be making the rounds at my holiday parties, thanks for sharing!
Not only beautiful but so practical too! LOVE
My 11 year old granddaughter will love creating this for Christmas day dinner! Thank you for the easy directions. The ingredients are on my grocery list as well as the contact paper.
Easy and so fun! My cheese-loving-sil would love this. Thanks!
Yvonne, I love this cheeseboard! What good timing for me – expecting guests this coming weekend. This is a no-stress, easy presentation that shows you made an effort. And the great thing is that you can change the cheeses and fruits and serve it again as nibbles on Christmas Eve or Day. (I have to have olives on there somewhere.)
This cheeseboard is a great idea for my Christmas Eve after we get back from church. I always have a big spread of food and munchies and we play games and later open gifts. I’m going to add this to my table. Thanks.
Such the perfect appetizer for Christmas parties!
LOVE this cheese board! When a young kid (just a few years ago _ Hah!), I never knew what to get for my Dad for Christmas. I finally hit on the idea of a cheese board because I knew he Loved Cheese! I think my poor Dad got a cheeseboard every year from my elementary grade school through my high school years. But he always seemed surprised and oh, so pleased! This post brought back a memory I had long forgotten. Thank you for the memory jog.
P.S. I must admit that your cheeseboard is much more elegant and attractive than any of mine were!
Your blog has inspired me so much this year. I love crafts and have done many, many different crafts all my life. However, cooking is not as big of an interest for me. I found the cheese and grape Christmas tree to be something I know I will try. It is fun, colorful and easy. I appreciate how detailed your directions are….especially details like “fold the parchment paper in a triangle.” Great tip.
The food tree is very cute and great idea! Love all of the Christmas ideas!
Yvonne, again, you inspired me! I LOVE this idea so much. It’s so do-able (with the contact paper and triangles) and doesn’t use any expensive deli items… and everyone will love it!! Thanks, creative friend! {{hugs}
THANKS Diane! You inspire me too!
This is incredibly beautiful, and the parchment paper tip is awesome. Doing this for our New Years I think, or potentially for Christmas Day but I know myself, there is a better chance I’ll take my time to try and make it as pretty as yours on New Years!
Oh my goodness! It almost looks too gorgeous to eat…but it’s CHEESE!!! Of COURSE it MUST be eaten! Lovely. Pinned 🙂
Just beautiful, I love the herbs in this display!
Yvonne – you always have the best party ideas. Your Christmas tree appetizer is so cute. We are having a get-together next week and plan to make this. We hope that ours actually looks like a tree when we are done with it LOL. So fun hopping with you!
What a great idea, Yvonne! This is beautiful and would be the hit of the party. I’ll be making one of these soon! ~ Angie
Thanks for the ideas and making the Holiday season a little easier to prepare for.
This is such a novel idea for a buffet table. Love it!!
Our Christmas guests were very impressed with the Christmas tree cheese board. I’d post a photo but the comment program doesn’t have a place for photos.
OH, Thanks so so much for letting me know!
I just love your house. Can’t wait to do cheese board.Love your blog.
Beautiful. This cheese board will be incorporated into my Christmas this year (maybe multiples:) Thank You!
Now that is an inviting appetizer
I clipped some rosemary this morning for my little WHITE VASE to put on the refreshment bar. This afternoon I saw your No.1 post for Christmas decor. Now all I have to do is purchase the
CANDY CANES to add to the WHITE VASE. I feel that I already have a start for Christmas.
Thanks a million Yvonne!!!
Love your great ideas. Definitely going to try the christmas tree appetizer.
I’m going to make the Christmas Tree Appetizer for fellowship after church.
Yvonne — WOW!! Yet again, you never cease to amaze. I am going to use this idea. Looks great and obviously is very simple and a WOW! Thanks and keep on keeping on! Penny
Thanks, Penny!
WOW! Thanks so much, Yvonne! This amazingly beautiful, delectable and scrumptious looking cheese board Christmas Tree stood out from all of the recipe ideas that I have been looking at for a Ladies’ Christmas party at church. I cannot wait to make this! I’m already thinking of how I can transform this idea for our New Year’s Eve get together, too!
I so love the Christmas tree appetizer. It is so pretty! What a fantastic idea using cheese and grapes . I will be making one of these for Christmas.
you are genioius! this is so beautiful and my friends and i were debating did you just put this straight on a marble countertop or large marble board, etc. I had just seen the pic by googling christmas veggie trays, so I googled more and found this. How elegant and classy and smart! Love this, can’t wait to see what else you have!
Thanks, Donna! It’s on a marble board.
Hi Yvonne. I love the Christmas tree cheese board. About how large of a tree would this come out to be in inches? I would need to transport this either on Christmas Eve to my daughter’s house and was wondering if you had any suggestions of what I could put it on to do so.
Thank you,
Nancy
This tree is probably a foot tall. I think I’d wrap it very tightly in plastic wrap to transport it! Hope this helps. Have fun at your daughter’s!
Good Morning Yvonne: Thank you again for the Cheese Tree, I did make it last year and it was a big hit. I will make it again this year. My Husband and I hope you and your Family Have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.
